Church targets petrol heads for classic car Father's Day event

Dads keen on Top Gear have got it made at a Norwich church event on Saturday ...

It's great to hear of a Father's Day event with a difference happening in Norfolk on Saturday (16 June).

The creatively named Today's Lifestyle Church (or TLC Norwich for short) is hosting a Petrol Heads Car Show & Family Fun Day at Drayton Hall, Drayton, and among the attractions is a car once used by John Lennon and Mary Wells of The Supremes.

Lots of classic cars will be on show, including a Mercedes Benz 300 SL Gullwing, and a few Ferraris and Porsches as well. And while dads drool over the cars, there are plenty of of attractions for the rest of the family.

The Church often fights shy of doing much with Father's Day – it's not part of the official church calendar, and many churches are super sensitive about families where a father simply isn't around.

And while it's not every church that can pull together this kind of event, there are surely lots of creative ways to affirm fathers, engage dads and start reaching the men so many churches are missing.
