Inspire Awards 2008
The Inspire Awards 2008
We’re consistently encouraged by the many stories Inspire receives about people and churches across the UK making a difference in their communities.
Take the Dorset milkman who delivers Christian care with his daily pinta, the blind civil servant with his award-winning motivating talks, or the former victim of domestic abuse who has set up refuges so that other women can find the help they need.
Then there’s the Cardiff church that got serious about serving its community and is now open seven days a week, the Reading churches that provide loos and food for rock festival-goers each summer and the Yorkshire fellowship who’ve planted an internet church …
The list is endless – and it seems there’s no limit to people’s creativity in reaching out to those around them either. We want to encourage this further by telling the stories, and spurring others on to be an inspiration, too!
So Inspire has this year launched its very own awards in two categories:
1 An individual Christian in the UK who is an inspiring role model, and
2 A UK church which is making a positive impact on its local community.
There’ll be a trophy and a prize for the winners in each section: £250 (for individuals) and £500 of CPO resources (for churches) to help further their work, and a prestigious special awards ceremony at Parliament in London for the winners and runners up in November this year.
All you have to do is make your nomination via e-mail by clicking HERE . It could be someone you’ve read about in Inspire already, or an individual or church in your community making a real difference to others. You need to move fast though - our closing date for entries to this year's awards is Monday 1 September!
Some of their stories will be continued to be featured in the magazine or on the website over the coming months and entries will be shortlisted for the Awards night, where the winners will be announced. Now get nominating!
