Tracy Cotterill – Mark: living the way of Jesus in the world
ISBN 978 1 78974 366 1
I have enjoyed reading the seven slim volumes that make up this series of Bible Study books. They have three common features:
Informative content: This series takes the Bible seriously. It does not take use Scripture as a prop, but as a generative foundation for all of life.
Attractive Style: The material is carefully laid out in a structure that is user-friendly. The format provides a familiar pattern without being predictable. There are enough changes of pace and action to keep the reader engaged.
Distinctive emphasis: Like all LICC material, this six-session Bible Study challenges the sacred secular divide. These materials encourage individual and group explorations on how Scripture can inform our everyday life and equip us to live on our “frontlines” in home, neighbourhood, work, and society. This emphasis is illustrated with stories of how this unfolds in some real lives.
The final instalment in this series is based on the Gospel Mark. It does not say everything that could be said about this Gospel, but its six well-chosen selection of key passages it does get to the heart of the book. Tracy Cotterill does pack a huge amount of useful information into 81 pages.
This is a very helpful resource for personal or group study.
