The random thoughts of a Christian parrot – Coco the parrot

This is the first time I have reviewed a book written by a parrot.

When I first picked it up, I had thoughts of Monty Python’s Dead Parrot Sketch. Coco is clearly not dead, nor has he been resting during the pandemic, as this sumptuous collection makes plain.

This selection of topical, witty reflections, all tied to biblical texts indicate that the author is far from feather-brained either.

I perched myself in my chair for a couple of hours to read through these lockdown jottings and can say that it would make a novel Christmas stocking filler. It will clearly be a conversation starter if placed on the coffee table beside a generous bowl of nuts and seeds.

I felt positively chirpy after reading this. This book combines quirky humour with poignant insights and timely reflections. It is all in a good cause, so dig up your credit cards, cheques and pieces of eight to get a copy.
