202 Pages

This updated version of his 2011 book is a fast-paced whistle stop tour of the whole Bible. The title Route 66 makes a connection between navigating the 66 books of the Bible and taking a road trip on the iconic Route 66 in the US.

Kandiah divides up the biblical material into eight sections, each of which look at a different biblical genre. Each section is divided into five daily studies, a personal reflection and a group study.

The book ends with a challenge to take the whole of Route 66 (yes, read the whole Bible) on an eight-week journey. If you have never read the Bible all the way through, this bracing journey might be the ride of your life.

The book is written in an easy, conversational style, that manages to pack a huge amount of information into its 202 pages. It is a good brief travel guide to navigating the Bible. It does not tell us all we might want to know, but makes a good start and has plenty of pointers to ways that the reader can learn more.

This would make a good gift to the new Christian, who is struggling with the strange new world of the Bible. It would also make an excellent resource for group Bible study.
