Norwich: come together ‘as a sign that God is at work’
As Celebrate Norwich & Norfolk marks its 10th anniversary event on June 29 at the Forum in Norwich city centre, project director John Betts says it provides a wonderful chance for the church in Norwich to engage with the local community.
Celebrate Norwich and Norfolk provides a fantastic annual opportunity for the church in Norwich to promote the kingdom of God in the heart of the city. It is one of the major occasions in the year when the Christian community unites in the public arena to celebrate what the Lord is doing across the city throughout the year and to reach out to the public.
“In these days when our nation is experiencing serious challenges for the church, we need to celebrate, demonstrate and communicate the good things God is doing through His people across our region.
“Wouldn’t it be great if the church in the city came together on June 29 as a sign that God is at work even when it appears that the churches are shrinking and the public perception is of the irrelevance of faith in this enlightened day and age!”
This year, as over the past 10 years, there will be an exciting group of diverse ministries on show united in fellowship with a desire to reach out to anyone and everyone who visits this exciting celebration of Christian unity. There are many stories of people who have come to faith, been healed or encouraged over the years. Churches and ministries have discovered one another and formed links of fellowship and support for their work too.
Celebrate Norwich and Norfolk issues a call to local church leaders and people to make God's people's presence felt on the occasion of the 10th anniversary.
There is still scope to join Celebrate at the Forum or to come and bring people to support those who are exhibiting there and gain a wider vision of what the Lord is doing in Norwich and Norfolk.
