Riding Lights Theatre takes Gospel Street on UK tour
Theatre company Riding Lights, will be performing its powerful new production, Gospel Street, across the UK from 22 September to 24 November.
The performance features a new generation looking for answers – a rich young executive, an angry gang leader, religious fanatics streaming live, baristas, professors, YouTubers, activists, a surprising refugee and the pizza delivery bloke who bought some seriously expensive jewellery.
Despite their differences and social divisions, everyone wants to meet one extraordinary person: Jesus has arrived on their street.
Gospel Street is a powerful mix of theatre, comedy and spoken word. It is described as: “Good news with wisdom, laughter, energy and insight.” It conveys Gospel truths in a vivid way that younger people can identify with.
Riding Lights Theatre Company has a Christian ethos and uses faith as a springboard to create unforgettable, entertaining theatre in response to current issues and the hopes and fears of the world we share.
Richard James, Rector of Holy Trinity, Norwich, which is hosting the production on 7 October, said: “I am excited to have Riding Lights coming: I’ve experienced their blend of slick performance and subtle gospel message at shows in our previous church in London, and I am confident this will be a great creative arts event to bring guests along to!”
It is a two-hour performance with an interval for refreshments which are included in the price. Tickets are subsidised by Holy Trinity reducing the cost of a full ticket to £6 (from £10) with concessions charged at £3 for under 18s, students, unwaged. You may pay the full amount if you wish, to help others attend.
Tickets are available by phone on 01904 613000 from Riding Lights, or from Holy Trinity Church on Sundays. The performance is best suited for over 13s.
