Events outreach programme lined up by Norfolk church
Lighthouse Community Church in Sheringham has announced its programme of inspiring evenings on selected Sundays this summer and autumn, with high profile guests including a priest, pastor, comedy magician and a singer/songwriter.
Tony Rothe reports for Network Norwich & Norfolk:
Collectively known as Stir 18, these evangelistic evenings are open to everyone, with comedy, magic, music and inspiring talks. The church hopes the range of guests will have broad appeal across the community as well as encouraging and inspiring Christians from churches in North Norfolk and across the county.
Sunday June 3 will be a worship evening featuring Steve Campbell, pictured below. Steve and Angie moved to Cambridge in 1994 as Senior Pastors of a lively church called C3. Under their leadership, the church has developed into an influential, pioneering church known for its worship, teaching and generosity.
Steve has taught in many different contexts throughout the UK and beyond. He works closely with several different streams and churches, teaching and advising on his greatest passion, the local church. As a gifted communicator Steve has a conviction to change the perception of church and loves to challenge people’s mindsets of what church should be. The evening will start at 7pm with coffee from 6.30pm, and admission is free.
Well known comedy magician John Archer (main photo) will be appearing at Lighthouse on Sunday July 8. John is a past winner of ‘The Magic Circle Stage Magician of the Year’ and has spent the last 28 years entertaining audiences all over the world, with regular tours to entertain British troops serving overseas. In 2013 ‘Help My Supply Teacher is Still Magic’ which John starred in and wrote for, won a BAFTA at the Children’s BAFTA Awards. John has been involved with and appeared in many TV shows across a range of channels including BBC and ITV and has appeared in France, Spain, Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Sweden, Belgium, Germany, USA, Curacao, Venezuela, South Africa, Japan, Kosovo, Oman, Philippines, Cyprus, Malaysia, Afghanistan, Malta, The Falklands and The Seychelles.

The evening starts with coffee at 7pm, with the show, suitable for anyone from age 10 upwards, commencing at 7.30pm. Tickets are £6 each from Lighthouse office.
The two guests visiting Lighthouse in the autumn will be evangelist Yemi Adedji on September 2 and renowned singer-songwriter Lou Fellingham on October 7.
Ian Savory, senior pastor at Lighthouse Community Church, said “With these Stir 18 events, we will be hearing other Christians tell their story and sharing their perspective on what God is doing in our day and in their area of influence, as well as enjoying some excellent entertainment. We are asking God to build faith among us for what He can do in North Norfolk and beyond.”
