Norwich: Canon Andrew White to speak at dinner event
The 'Vicar of Baghdad' is the international guest speaker at the Norwich Full Gospel Businessmen's Christmas Dinner event on 5 December.
Canon Andrew White, a courageous Middle East Peace Envoy described as “something of a legend”, will be the international guest speaker at the FGB Christmas Dinner Evening on Tuesday 5 December, at the Mercure Hotel, Norwich, in the presence of the Lord Mayor, reports Network Norwich & Norfolk.
Widely known as the ‘Vicar of Baghdad’, Andrew had 2000 Iraqis in his congregation, and won eight awards for his international peacemaking work, despite a long and painful battle with multiple sclerosis. He remains a man of great charm and energy.
Many of Andrew’s congregation have been martyred for their faith, and Andrew has faced numerous death threats.
Born in London, he was trained in medicine – and went on to become the youngest Canon in the Church of England. He was later appointed Middle East Envoy by the Archbishop of Canterbury. Andrew has written five books and is married, with two sons.
All visitors are welcome to this inspirational Dinner Evening at the Mercure Hotel at 7pm for 7.30pm.
Tickets at £15 each can be booked in advance from Dr Barrie Lawrence on firstname.lastname@example.org and 01603 898 289.
