Christians in Sport is to take over the leadership of LOGOS Golf Ministries – a charity whose mission statement is ‘taking the word of God to the world of golf’.
LOGOS will remain as a separate charity and retain its own branding, under which Ken Revie and Vincent Brown will continue to represent LOGOS Golf Ministries on the European Tour and Tartan Tour respectively.
Graham Daniels, Christians in Sport’s General Director, said: “The LOGOS Golf Ministries team are doing a valuable work in a very hard to reach area of sport. We believe the LOGOS Golf Ministries team and Christians in Sport team will benefit greatly from working alongside each other as we reach the world of sport for Christ together.
“I would like to take the opportunity to thank the outgoing LOGOS Golf Ministries board of trustees for their wonderful service to golf ministry over the last 12 years.”
Both Christians in Sport and LOGOS Golf Ministries believe this move is in the best interests of reaching professional golfers with the gospel.
Outgoing LOGOS Golf Ministries Chairman Allan Gray said: “Over the last 12 years, many professional golfers, caddies and officials on the European Tours have been reached with the gospel through the service of LOGOS Golf Ministries.
“The recent discussions that have taken place with Christians in Sport over how best to reach into the world of professional golf have been amicable, productive and Christ-honouring. The results of those discussions provide opportunities to both consolidate and develop LOGOS’ important evangelistic work.
“I and the outgoing Logos Golf Ministries board members are confident that the new working arrangements will give enhanced opportunities for the word of God to be taken to the world of golf.”
