Following a rigorous recruitment process, Dr Ruth Valerio has been appointed as Global Advocacy and Influencing Director at Tearfund from March 2017.
Ruth will be coming to Tearfund from A Rocha UK, where she currently holds the post of Churches and Theology Director. She is is highly regarded as an author and speaker and has been a supporter and friend of Tearfund for many years.
Ruth has written extensively on justice, environment and lifestyle issues, has been part of the leadership team of Spring Harvest and a member of the Evangelical Alliance Board. She has a doctorate in Theology and Ministry and degrees in Divinity Studies and Biblical Interpretation.
CEO of Tearfund, Nigel Harris, said “I am delighted that God has called Ruth to this leadership role at Tearfund at this time, and look forward to her joining us in March. She brings a fantastic range of experience and expertise, and we are thrilled to have her as a senior leader at Tearfund.”
