Cross the Line: footballers talk faith
Mixing football and faith, Cross the Line founders Ollie Baines and Liam Flint have just published their first book ...
Ollie, who supports Norwich City, and Liam, a Chelsea and Aldershot fan, have put together Cross the Line: Christian footballers talk God, faith and the beautiful game (out on 21 July via SPCK, £9.99).
In the book, 20 high-profile footballers share their faith and reveal how it influences their lives, both on and off the pitch.
Based on interviews with international players such as Kwadwo Asamoah (Juventus and Ghana), Heurelho Gomes (Watford and Brazil), Hernanes (Juventus and Brazil), Odion Ighalo (Watford and Nigeria), Kaka (Orlando City FC and Brazil) and Victor Wanyama (Southampton and Kenya), the book offers a range of information and insights into strictly football matters, while also exploring the way these players have ‘crossed the line’ into a relationship with Jesus, and showing how God is actively at work in professional football today.
Co-founders of Cross the Line, Ollie and Liam together with a team of young writers, run a busy website and regular podcasts, and both were finalists in the 2015 Football Blog Awards. Find out more via firstname.lastname@example.org and follow them on Twitter via @crossthelinex_
