Prayer vigil tonight following murder of MP Jo Cox
Christians in politics will be gathering for a vigil in Parliament Square, London, tonight in memory of murdered MP Jo Cox ...
Christians in politics will be joining tonight (17 June) with many others, to show support for MP Jo Cox's family, the local community, fellow MPs and all those who feel particularly affected at this time.
A vigil is being organised in Parliament Square at 7pm for an opportunity to stand with all Christians from across the parties to pray for Jo's family and the nation.
Christians on the Left, the Conservative Christian Fellowship and the Liberal Democrat Christian forum will be standing together in prayer as Christians in Politics.
Those taking part will be congregating before the main vigil at 6.30pm in Parliament Square, outside the Houses of Parliament. All are welcome, and others are encouraged to join in prayer at this time wherever they are.
Hundreds attended a church vigil in St Peter's Church, Birstall, yesterday.
Rev Paul J Knight, from St Peter's Church in Birstall told Premier Radio he was "so saddened" by the death of Jo Cox who he described as "a lovely lady" and whose death was "a great loss" to the community.
He added: "Our prayers are still with her husband, her family and her friends. We will be praying for them as we remember Jo and all that she has given to this community."
