Proclaimers Church in Norwich, are taking inspiration from the Christian celebrity Bear Grylls and hosting a ‘Be Like Bear’ weekend to celebrate Father’s Day and to explore what it means to be a successful man in the modern world. The weekend will include a barbeque on Saturday, June 18, 12.30pm – 2.30pm.

Inspired by the adventures of Bear Grylls, an SAS Reservist, mountaineer, survivalist, author, broadcaster and entrepreneur, the afternoon will involve ‘Bear inspired’ challenges and some short, practical thoughts on what it means to ‘Be Like Bear’.

On Sunday, June 19 there will be a special Father’s Day service at 10.30am around the same theme.

Proclaimers Pastor Tom Rawls said: “Bear Grylls is a modern day hero. He is a man who is passionate about his family and family values, and who is a great example of using his influence well to point people to Jesus, as we could see in his Running Wild with Bear Grylls TV show when he spent time with President Obama.

“We want to use this weekend as an opportunity to take a closer look at modern day masculinity.” Both events will take place at Proclaimers Church, The Space, Roundtree Way, Norwich NR7 8SQ.
