Christian comedian, entertainer and evangelist Tom Elliott has premiered his new DVD and launched a Kickstarter campaign to give away copies to young people at summer camps this year.

The launch event for When Life Hands You Lemons – shown for the first time in public – took place at the Stroud Subscription Room in Tom's home county of Gloucestershire.

Tom also launched his first Kickstarter campaign, in partnership with Urban Saints, a national Christian ministry supporting young people, to raise £5,000 as much needed funds to give away 1375 copies of his new DVD to young people at Spree Weekends across the UK this summer.

Released this week, the 45-minute DVD was filmed in front of a live audience of more tan 350 people at the Bacon Theatre in Cheltenham in the autumn of 2014.

When Life Hands You Lemons is a blend of comedy, illusion and a challenging message about the meaning of life. The DVD sells for £12 via Tom's website or £10 at events he is speaking at.

As well as being a touring comedian and evangelist, Tom is also the Youth Minister at Minchinhampton Baptist Church, where he worships with his wife, Natalie. Tom believes that the Christian message needs to be shared with young people and their families to see lives changed.

In attempting his first Kickstarter campaign, Tom is looking for people to help raise £5,000 for the DVD to be given away free to 1,300 young people at Spree Weekends later this summer.

The Kickstarter campaign ends at 12 noon on 12 April. Tom will be sharing his Kickstarter video as part of a late night Chat Show at Spring Harvest in Minehead on Wednesday 8 April.

Tom said: "After dreaming of a bringing out a DVD for the last three years, four months after editing, the moment is now here to see my DVD being launched in Stroud. It's been important for me to see the launch happen in my locality as I have a heart and passion for this place. As a local Youth Minister, I have seen the lives of many young people changed around this area.

"I am excited about seeing my DVD being released into homes across the UK to get people talking about the transforming message of life that the Christian faith brings. I am grateful to everyone who has supported me in making this project a reality.

"As well as launching my first DVD, I have always wanted  to give something back to help young people develop in the faith which has transformed my own life. I decided to do a Kickstarter campaign, because of its all or nothing pledging approach – I believe this is a project which people will support me in. I am looking forward to hand delivering DVDs at Spree Weekends later this year!"
