Mary and Joseph set for heart of London

A Christmas musical promises to connect the whole family with the Nativity story afresh in the heart of London this month ...

This December the team from Christmas the Musical are coming to the Supernova Arena, Victoria Embankment Gardens as part of The Christmas Experience, the perfect family treat this festive season.

RADA trained actor now Director Israel Oyelumade, who has appeared in both stage productions by the Royal Shakespeare Company and Hollywood movies, is bringing his expertise to retell the Nativity story.

He explained, “It’s fantastic to bring such an age old story to life at this time of the year. Christmas the Musical is a collection of powerful songs and along with a fantastic cast of professional actors, I am convinced that people will love it, whether they are discovering the Nativity story for the first time or the 100th.”

The music has been written by SE Hooks who first hosted the show to a sell-out crowd at the Battersea Mess and Music Hall in the lead up to Christmas 2012.

She shared, “I am thrilled with how the script and music have been developed for such an exclusive venue this December. More than just a show, this event will bring the festive spirit to life as Londoners are offered a fully immersive experience of Christmas; with festive treats, sing-a-long carols and of course, performances from the show Christmas the Musical.”

Hooks continues: “The long term objective is to see Christmas the Musical do a season in a theatre throughout December 2015 and this year's events will give people an opportunity to journey with us and experience some of the wonder of this production!”

The production is being back by Crossing London. Mission Director Andy Frost said: “Already this year with Love Beyond we have seen how powerfully the arts communicate the Christian story. I am excited that this production will put the birth of Jesus at the heart of Christmas.”

The Christmas Experience has matinees and evening shows on both Monday 8 December and Sunday 14 December. To book and for further information, see the website
