UK worship leader and recording artist Noel Robinson, has been nominated for a MOBO Award in the Best Gospel Act category.
The MOBO Awards are one of the flagship music events in the UK mainstream music calendar, and has given awards to leading UK and US artists including Stevie Wonder, Beyonce, Jay Z, Neyo, Kanye West, Jessie Jay, Joss Stone and Tiny Tempah.
The MOBO's commitment to highlighting Music of Black Origin as performed by all peoples and cultures gives it mainstream credibility.
MOBO Awards 2014 recognises the role Gospel Music has and is playing in popular culture by nominating Noel Robinson for his contribution to UK music this year.
Noel has been nominated three times within the lifetime of the MOBOs and over his 20-plus years working within the Christian music industry, following in the footsteps of past winners such as Raymond & Co, New Life, Guvna B, Victizzle and Lurine Cato.
Noel simply describes what he does as "telling the story of a generation through the eyes of the Cross, wanting them to sing those spiritual songs that bring a generation closer to the Cross and what it represents".
In September 2014, Noel received the award for UK Album of the Year for his latest album Devoted at the Gospel Touch Music Awards in Hackney, London. Noel also received the award for UK Gospel Album of the Year for Devoted at the Christian Resources Exhibition (CRE), as well as receiving an award for Best UK Praise & Worship Video for his single I am Devoted at the Jump Music Video Awards in Birmingham in June 2014.
Noel's CV comprises the who's who of Christian Music, and he has been as comfortable working with Neyo as he is with Israel Houghton and Fred Hammond and many other top artists worldwide.
