South East London based Christian charity Mission Care is running a training day this summer for people involved in the pastoral support of older people.

The day course will focus on the opportunities and issues faced by those caring for vulnerable older people, including those with dementia.  Seminars will cover topics on honouring older people, the effects of dementia on carers and equipping older people to service.

The day will be led by writer and speaker Roger Hitchings and Louise Morse, author of the book Could it Be Dementia?  Both speakers are also involved with the Pilgrims’ Friends Society who provide nursing care for those living with dementia.

The Mission Care training day takes place on Saturday 8 June 2013 at Bromley Baptist Church, Bromley and starts at 10.30am.  For further information e-mail info@missioncare.org.uk
