Not normally known for its coverage of religious topics, the world of commercial radio will step out of its comfort zone this Christmas by airing a one-hour show all about angels.
Media and healthcare charity HCJB Global have secured a slot on Christmas Eve with the UKRD network of radio stations to broadcast an entertaining music show looking at the popular subject of angels.
Fronted by well-known TV and radio presenter Diane Louise Jordan (right), The Angels Show will ask questions such as: what are angels? What do they do? What do they look like? And do people still encounter them today?
The show will also explore the appearance of angels in the Christmas story and discover why there was so much angelic activity surrounding the birth of Christ.
During the programme Diane will hear from angel experts and from the general public, including a number of individuals who claim to have met angels at crucial moments of their lives.
The show will also feature a healthy dose of songs on the subject of angels from artists such as U2, Aretha Franklin, Shaggy and of course, Robbie Williams.
CEO of HCJB Global Colin Lowther said: “We are thrilled to have secured such a high profile slot on Christmas Eve with a large audience of commercial radio listeners. And to have Diane Louise Jordan fronting the show is a real bonus.
“Angels are a topic of fascination for many people these days, with the popularity of the new age and people wanting to interact with the supernatural. We hope to reconnect listeners with the God who sends the angels, and in the process remind them of the real meaning of the season.”
