Mark your Christingle with a Fairtrade message

Churches, schools and groups are invited to put their faith into action this Christmas by making their Christingle a Fairtrade one with a message of trade justice.

Traidcraft, the UK’s leading Fairtrade organisation, has collaborated with The Children’s Society to raise vital funds to support vulnerable children and young people across the UK through Christingle celebrations.

Traidcraft have worked with Y-Development, a hill tribe group in Northern Thailand, to provide a handmade fair trade red cotton ‘friendship’ band, which can be tied around the Christingle orange to symbolise the love and blood of Christ. After the Christingle service the band can be worn on the wrist as a reminder of the connection with vulnerable communities across the world.

Traidcraft’s  chocolate buttons and beanies tubes also have a dual purpose – firstly, to decorate the Christingle orange as a symbol of God’s creation and secondly,  as a tube to collect donations on behalf of The Children’s Society which will impact the lives of venerable children and young people in the UK.
