Freedom Festival highlights issue of modern day slavery
The London event is organised by CAST (Christian Anti-Slavery Today) which mobilises people to help put an end to modern day slavery
CAST (Christian Anti-Slavery Today) which highlights the issue of modern day slavery and mobilises people to help end it, is organising a Freedom Festival in London on 22 September.
The free event has a sporting theme and visitors can also enjoy a hand-on IT showcase, craft workshops, chocolate tasting, dance, drama and a fashion show. There will be music from X-Factor finalist Raquel Thomas and a contribution from Osy Waye, who took part in the Olympics opening ceremony.
“With 12 million enslaved people worldwide and a child sold every two minutes, there is urgency,” explains CAST representative Ola Omiteru. “Yet each of us can help in simple ways – and together we can make a difference!”
The Freedom Festival takes place on 22 September at the Birchwood Centre, Muswell Hill, London N10 3BG from 12.30 to 5pm.
