Boris to speak at Street Pastors' conference
Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London is set to speak tomorrow at the the first ever Street Pastors Practitioners Conference which runs from 12-14 November at the Emmanuel Centre, Marsham Street, London SW1. Mr Johnson will be talking about youth.
Street Pastors is a community initiative co-founded by Rev Les Isaac, who is the key figure behind the three day conference.
He said: “We’ve decided to hold a Practitioners Conference because during the six years of leading and developing Street Pastors we’ve learnt much about what it takes to set up and run social initiatives which impact local communities. We aim to use this conference to share what we’ve learnt.”
Other guest speakers at this this event include include Archbishop of York the Rt Rev Dr John Sentamu; Mayor of London Boris Johnson; Rod Jarman, the Deputy Assistant Commission of the Metropolitan Police; Criminologist Professor John Pitts; Rev David Shosanya, co-founder of Street Pastors and Oliver Nyumbu, Chief Executive of CARET.
The conference will comprise of keynote speeches and workshops on various subjects including Effective Fundraising, Serving the Community, The Government, Faith and Community Cohesion, Policing, Gangs, Good Practise and Prayer.
