Baby baptised at Glastonbury Festival

A baby has been baptised at the Glastonbury Festival, five years to the day after his parents first met at festival.

Nineteen-month-old Ellison Worthy made history on Sunday 24 June when he was baptised at the Glastonbury Festival.

Ellison’s dad Will Worthy runs the outside circus stage at the festival. He met wife Carey at the 2002 festival – on 24 June – the very same date on which the baptism took place.

Ellison was baptised by Reverend David Osborne, the Rector of Pilton – the village in which the festival takes place. Reverend Osborne plays a significant role at the festival working at part of the voluntary ‘Sanctuary Marquee’ – the Church at the festival.

Arabella Churchill, granddaughter of Winston, is Ellison’s godmother.
