This Gospel Musical play is an emotional roller coaster. Sunday School is where the friendship between Andrea and Patricia started, but when it came to an end, life took over. Dreams were broken and heartaches grew. Even through the brokenness and disappointments, they never forgot who they were and whose they were.

SOIL 2018 Conference aims to create an environment that will re-ignite the vision within others to start or expand in business, ministry or media by bringing them into a space with similar people with the same passion to succeed. SOIL as an acronym means, “Step Out In Leadership”, which looks at the role the earth plays in the development process of a seed and its transfiguration to a fruit bearing plant. Inside of each of us, there is a seed (a business idea, a calling in ministry, a book, or even a song) that simply needs the right environment and timing to be birthed. On Saturday, January 6th, 2018, we want to create an environment that will stimulate the budding process of that seed. To make this possible, we are inviting entrepreneurs, innovators, executives, subject matter experts, publishers, investors, psalmists, authors, and coaches from various sectors to share their expertise.

Where adventure begins, family is far from simple...

Brace yourselves as bold church leaders plunge headlong into the dizzy world of young discipleship. Gasp as perplexed parents hang on for the white-knuckle ride of the teenage years. Thrill in amazement as overworked, relentlessly positive Youth Worker, Ryan, negotiates a string of minor disasters on the famous camping trip to Wales. And what of Winston the cat’s role in family prayers?

Meet Jake, Jasmine and Ellie as they re-live their childhood and teenage experiences of Christian faith at home and at church.

Nobody knows how it will turn out, but everyone’s agreed that we need to keep together on the adventure of faith.

In a brilliantly entertaining show – real, touching, hilarious – Riding Lights create an unmissable piece of theatre to deepen our understanding of ‘family’.

Church agencies lead Norwich’s Modern Slavery Summit

In January 2018 The Church of England’s Clewer Initiative and the Eastern Baptist Association are co-hosting a Modern Slavery Summit in Norwich to help train communities in Norfolk combat modern slavery.

A Modern Slavery Summit will take place on Saturday, January 27 at Witard Road Baptist Church in Norwich, giving attendees a thorough grounding on what modern slavery looks like in the UK and how to spot the signs.

The newly launched Clewer Initiative, a project which forms part of the Church of England’s approach to eradicating modern slavery and the Eastern Baptist Association are co-hosting the Norwich summit.

Training will be delivered by the public body, the Gangmasters and Local Abuse Authority, with input from local police.

The focus is on training people in the key hallmarks of modern slavery, and equipping them to move forward in partnership with local police and statutory agencies.

The summit starts at 10.30am until 2.30pm. It is free to attend.

Norwich Social Justice Conference

29 January 2018

The Kings Centre, Norwich

A conference on social justice for faith and secular charities in the Greater Norwich area is to be held at The King’s Centre, Norwich on Monday, January 29.

The introductory speakers are The Bishop of East Anglia, The Bishop of Lynn and Alan Waters, leader of Norwich City Council. In addition there are eight well-known local speakers who will give brief inputs on the major issues facing the disadvantaged in different areas of social deprivation. Refreshments and lunch will be provided and conference papers are being produced.

In outline, the morning is intended to allow delegates to meet one another, become better informed about the situation in Norwich and learn about the main issues facing disadvantaged people living in the area.

The afternoon will be devoted mainly to group discussion at which practical solutions are sought to improve the quality of support available. Delegates will be asked to explore areas for greater co-operation amongst their charities and undertake to carry out some follow-up activity after the conference.

Attendance for delegates will be free and it is suggested that each participating charity sends two delegates to provide mutual support after the day is over. People are asked to register and lunch is provided. The event is sponsored by Living Wage Norwich.

Pilgrimage into Mission Conference

03 February 2018

Norwich Cathedral

The international surge in popularity of pilgrimage creates significant opportunities in mission for local parishes. Is your church along the route of an ancient pilgrimage or modern long-distance path? Is it associated with a local saint or holy person, or was it the home of a local shrine or holy well? Do you have treasures you long to share with others? The combination of heritage and holiness is a powerful draw for contemporary people and provides an ideal context in which to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.

The cost of the training day is £15 per person and includes a light lunch.

LIFE. FAITH. ADVENTURE.

What are the 'Going Against the Grain' days all about? Well we decided that actually getting a load of men together to worship God, have a laugh together and be inspired from the Bible is essential, so that's what we want to do. We have called these 'Going Against the Grain' days as we are also releasing a brand new book by Nathan Blackaby focused on how we can be live as effective Christians in today's busy world. Men of strength and honour, focus and fight but also men who surrender to a greater cause and a greater king. Lets see a culture shifting amount of men give their lives to Jesus, our captain and brother, rescuer and friend. Fancy some of that? Then come along, half a day, bacon roll - or the meat free option; and join us!
