Mixing music styles from rock to classical with a high calibre line-up of artists, the day also offers events for children and young people in a great setting, providing a rare chance for churches to enjoy a day out together, with something for all ages.
"The event already seems to be scratching an itch with the Church," said Tim. "We are excited about the second site at Stanford Hall in the Midlands. I can imagine that in a few more years time there could be perhaps four or five BigChurchDayOuts all across the UK over two weekends."
This year's event again has a strong emphasis on corporate worship, with Hillsong United, Tim Hughes, Israel Houghton and Brenton Brown set to appear, alongside contemporary Christian music giants like Switchfoot and Toby Mac.
"The focus and vision of the day is to bring the Church together in celebration," explains Tim, "and that is why there is an emphasis on artists who can help facilitate corporate worship from the mainstage."
Excellence is the watchword, and the ex-Delirious keyboard man also hopes the quality of the music will make it easy for people to invite friends along.
Lessons have been learned from last year on traffic management (although people are still urged to arrive early!) and food provision, and Tim is determined to keep ticket prices as low as possible.
An exciting three days are in store – watch out for the CPO stand at Wiston!
