We all enjoy a chat over a cup of coffee, and for Lynda Alsford it's been a real bridgebuilder. Working in the Bridge café at Holy Trinity Church, Hounslow, she's been able to build relationships with some of the regulars and find ways of sharing her faith in Jesus.
More people now leave prayer requests than before, says Lynda, and it's becoming a place where people can connect with God's love.
"I am excited at what God wants to do and is doing through the Bridge centre," she says. "It was a privilege to witness God changing the life of a young woman who had recently arrived from India and was struggling with not having work.
"Feeling suicidal and desperate, she came along to a session I ran about broken dreams, where people were encouraged to write out their broken dreams on a tile then transfer them onto a cross.
"She left her contact details, and I was able to pray with her and re-introduce her to God through the power of the Holy Spirit working in her life, as she was able to get a job and discover a new found confidence."
Lynda uses mugs produced as part of the Church Army's What Will They Believe? campaign. The mugs cost £4 (including P&P) and can be ordered from 020 8309 3519 or via email@example.com.
